Cyril Turner
Cyril retired as SVP of Delta Air Lines. He served as President of 20,000 person Delta Global Services (DGS) as well as President of the 75 aircraft Delta Private Jets (DPJ), wholly owned subsidiaries of Delta. He previously oversaw the operation as SVP of Delta Connection, where he was responsible for managing Delta’s US$6bn partnership with six regional carriers, including the wholly owned Endeavor Air subsidiary. In this capacity he oversaw all operational aspects of the 435 aircraft enterprise.
Prior to joining Delta, Cyril served as Corporate Vice President, Capital Planning and Value Management for Coca-Cola Enterprises, with responsibility for the company's US$1bn capital budget, spanning North America and Europe. Prior to that, he served as Vice President of Finance and was Chief Financial Officer for the Eastern North America Group, as well as Division Vice President and General Manager with The Atlanta Coca-Cola Bottling Company. Cyril has also held leadership positions with The Coca-Cola Company, Frito-Lay and Deloitte & Touché.
In addition to his extensive business experience, Cyril is active in the Atlanta community, serving on the Executive Board of Junior Achievement of Georgia, past Board Chair of Leadership Atlanta, and Co-Chair of the Chris 180 Capital Campaign. He also has been involved in the Georgia Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 100 Black Men of Atlanta and Habitat for Humanity. On a national level, he serves on the Membership Committee for the Executive Leadership Council (ELC).
He most recently retired as President of Year Up. Through intensive soft and hard skill training and an internship, Year Up develops young adults to earn college paying jobs within a years’ time.
Cyril also holds a personal U.S. patent (# 7,848,992) on Time Value of Money.
He simultaneously earned bachelor’s degrees: a BSc in Physics from Morehouse College and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He earned an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Further, Cyril has studied at Harvard Business School and the London Business School.
